I too apreciate the guts it takes to talk about something most people percieve as mental illness.
I have been in and out of institutions my entire adult life, tried street drugs, heavy drinking, taken extreme risks with my life to experience the adrenaline rush, been a sexaholic, as well as criminal activities to get excitement and temporarily avoid the crushing darkness of severe depression. I appreciate what you said about taking your meds. on time, daily, as prescribed I have 9 medications I take each day for other disorders as well, how often I have thought why me? why do I have to take this crap to be better? I want to skip days, but I don't, because I know I wont be able to get out of bed let alone function in any manor! It's a way of life you have to be thankfull for because without finding the right Drs. and meds. I too would have left this world many, many years ago.

Not only am I proud to be your friend, I think you've done a great service by speaking out about a very sensitive topic that often makes people uncomfortable to discuss. Good for you!

Be well,
